Protect sensitive information using Access 07

For those who have been using excel sheets to save user IDs and passwords, is leaving your sensitive data open. It will take few minutes to follow these steps to convert your excel to Access DB and password protect it:

· Create a new Access DB.

· Go to External Data and click on excel.

· Import the sheets (with first rows contains field names option one at a time). If import gives some DLL load error, you may require to register 2 DLLs:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833220

· You may just have to scrub your excel workbook sheets to make sure the first row is column headers

Once import is complete, password protect you data using: http://databases.about.com/od/tutorials/ss/passwordprotect.htm
